Cairo – and Egypt as a whole – takes celebrating occasions very seriously, and New Year’s Eve is, by no means, a small occasion. Suitably, then, the city's bars, hotels and venues have a host of parties, dinners and events ready and waiting for what is one of – if not the – busiest nights of the year.

Guests at Alchemy’s And Around the Sun We Go  get a free invitation to CJC’s When the Clock Strikes Twelve featuring the progressive house beats of DJ Tahawy and Omar Sherif, while Fairmont Nile City goes Oriental at 1001 Nights featuring belly-dancer, Elissar, and local favourites, the Cadillacs. Also at the Nile-side hotel, O Bar hosts DJs, Asser Nabil, Dr K and Irma, for This is New York.

VENT ushers in NYE 2015 with a line-up featuring DJ Rags, Neil Edward, Ismael and the VENT residents, while the Lemon Tree & Co host their own 2015 Celebration featuring Wagdi Francis of legendary band, Le Petit Chats and, despite closing earlier this year, the folk at La Bodega are celebrating with a Venitian Masquerade at Uptown Cairo.

Kempinski Nile Hotel welcomes 2015 at Jazz Bar in style with Carlos & Vega spinning, all-you-can-eat sushi and special cocktails, as well as special New Year's Eve Gala Dinner, where Amie Sultan and Akram El Sharkawi provide the entertainment. Elsewhere, Intercontinental Citystars welcomes DJs, Khaled Hussein and Gareth Sterling, and Fairmont Heliopolis & Towers host a swanky black and gold themed Soiree featuring a lineup of DJs, dancers and fire shows, while Garden City’s Rooftop Lounge welcomes DJ Mash.

Maadi bar, The Tap, host their own celebration with Timmy the Guvna, Minus T and the Beatles cover band, Glass Onion, while one of Cairo’s newest nightlife spots, Gŭ Bar, celebrates NYE with singer, Albert Boyadjian, and belly-dancer, Amie.

Choices, choice – right? Whatever you decide to do – and even if you stay at home – have a great time! Check out the Cairo 360 events calendar for more. Bring on 2015.
