Fundraising can be a hassle, but when it comes to compelling people to support a particular cause, an impactful and well-crafted campaign can make all the difference. That’s where Orange Egypt, which is the leading provider of integrated telecommunications services, comes into the picture.

Orange has just launched two parallel campaigns that will make a difference. The campaigns are to renovate and refurbish schools and houses in Upper Egypt in villages, in cooperation with “Misr El Kheir” and “Ommar Al-Ard” foundations.

One of the best ways to develop an engaging campaign strategy is to learn from the successes of others who are experts in the field of giving back to the community (namely Misr El Kheir and Ommar Al-Ard). With the slogan, “Small things make a big difference”, Orange launched their first campaign with Misr El Kheir; the campaign focuses on the renovation of a number of schools in six the Egyptians governorates of Aswan, Luxor, Sohag, Assiut, Beni Suef, and Minya. The support and finance for school furniture will be provided by them, including devices and computers, to grant a better and healthier environment for students.

The second campaign focuses on renovating houses in four villages in Upper Egypt, in cooperation with Ommar Al-Ard Foundation; the project is based on the company’s effort to support the needy families in Minya and Beni Suef governorates. Accordingly, Orange started by installing roofs and flooring, painting walls, and providing all rudimentary facilities like water, electricity, and sanitation.

Ommar Al-Ard’s collaboration with Orange is part of a larger campaign by Al-Ard, titled “Satr and Ghata” (loosely translating to “cover and shelter”). The campaign aims to protect families in needy villages by keeping them warm and safe through the installation of insulation roofs, specifically designed to protect families from cold weather and other environmental factors.

Hala Abdel Wadood, Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Orange, said: “We continue to forge our privileged partnership with institutions like Ommar El Ard and Misr El Kheir Foundation, which have exceptional experience in community work to upgrade the standard of Egyptian lives and change it for the better.”

She then explained that the main purpose of the campaign is to carry forward – and bring to life – the promotional campaign launched by Orange under the theme “Small things make a big difference.”

We believe that Orange is on the right track with two powerful campaigns that are just the start of many more to come. Indeed, Orange is all about supporting a nationwide campaign launched by the Ministry of Solidarity, titled “Dignified Life”. We are always proud to see an international master of telecommunication services take steps towards making huge and impactful changes to the community, and set positive examples for others.
