Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but sometimes it gets too hard to see amid a raging of sea of chaos. That’s how Cairo can be sometimes; comprising various cultural influences, the rich and long history of Cairo peeks out from the smallest of details in the city, waiting for a keen eye to notice its sheer beauty, and that’s exactly what Cairo Urban Sketchers are here for.
Managed by Tasmeem Architectural Group, and with support from AlQahira School of Design, Cairo Urban Sketchers are taking great strides in identifying Cairo’s beauty. They roam the streets of Cairo to identify and promote the hidden gems of the city, with the sole purpose of making people recognise and appreciate its diverse architectural beauty

Today we bring to you their latest showcase, the beauty of metalworking. In a time not so long ago, craftsmen used to give a lot of time and effort to their work, they had pride, vision, and an artistic sense. Just take a look at the details of each piece of work, the curves, emblems, and shapes. These are not artistic places, they are common homes of common people, yet they were executed to perfection.
So next time you’re walking around Cairo, stay on the lookout for such beautiful details. You never know when you could find something that would amaze you, and don’t be afraid to share it with the world.
