Watch: Zorbing Has Arrived in Cairo, Get on Board or Get Out of the Way
Cairo 360
While the scenic nation of New Zealand is most famed in the sporting world for rugby, an unlikely sport-come-recreational-tomfoolery has emerged and spread at the hand of the Kiwis – globe-riding, sphereing, orbing, or, our personal favourite term, zorbing. It’s a bit of a tongue-twister for Arabic-speakers, don’t you think?
Obscene play on words aside, zorbing has arrived in Cairo this year via Verticality Zorbing Park in Maadi. It’s all really quite simple; get inside one of the transparent plastic orbs, brace yourself and enjoy a 360° view that not one of those fancy schmancy cameras can match, as you can see…
Suitable for kids and adults, aka big kids, alike, Verticality seems to have caught the imagination of Cairenes despite its sheer simplicity. As the first zorbing park in the Middle East, it has already won plenty of fans with the set-up located at The Field Sports Community Club – it’s one of those things that you have to try once. Go on, we dare you.
