We can smell the weekend from here! We’ve rounded up all the events taking place over the next few days, so take a look below and start filling your calendars…

Thursday afternoon features a creative contemporary artwork exhibition entitled Roznama 8 at Medrar and Contemporary Image Collective, which will run until the 8th of April.

If you want an active evening, head to Cairo Contemporary Dance Center and enjoy a walk-in Zumba class with a combination of Latin and international music to give you a fun interval training workout. Whether you’re singing your heart out at ROOM Art Space’s Karaoke Night, celebrating Mohasseb’s 9th anniversary with the freshest tunes at Cairo Jazz Club 610, or witnessing Wust El Balad’s anticipated comeback at Cairo Jazz Club, you’re off to a great start!

Friday starts on a positive note with a two-day Pranic healing course to empower and get your health on the right track at Osana Family Wellness. Moving on to nighttime, Motherfunkers and Aly & Tata at Cairo Jazz Club 610 will take you back to the 70s with their groovy funk and disco tunes, and its twin, Cairo Jazz Club, is welcoming brother duo Parallells, coming all the way from Amsterdam with their electro beats that’ll have you dancing all night.

If the previous night’s karaoke session at ROOM was not enough, or you happened to miss it, Darb 1718 will be hosting an Open Jam Night for you to perform like it’s an X Factor audition, but don’t forget to register first! A blast from the past by Beatles tribute band Glass Onion sounds like the perfect nostalgic shenanigan, which is taking place at Cairo Opera House’s Open Air Theatre. On that note, you can take a trip back to the 80s at ROOM Art Space with Rock n Roll band Python, who cover legendary musicians like Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Queen, and Journey.

On Saturday, you can unwind with Chakras Rebalance workshop at Darb 1718 to help your body return to its natural state of balance just in time for the beginning of the new week. Alternatively, increase your flexibility through movements of the spine, shoulders, arms, and ribs with Sara Ismail’s Awareness Through Movement Course at the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center.

To end your night, enjoy the soothing oriental music of ROOM Art Space’s Oriental Oud edition, or the classical music of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, Cairo Opera House, featuring music from renowned composers like Penderecki, Chopin, and Lutoslawski. You can witness the launch of Egyptian singer/songwriter Shahira Kamal‘s new album and watch her perform songs from the record for the first time. The set will also feature some well-renowned Egyptian musicians, including Louka, Peter Abdou, Maher Mallakh, and Nadia Shanab.
