Your Holiday Expo 2016: Three-Day Event in Cairo Aiming to Empower Egypt’s Tourism Industry

The ailing state of tourism in Egypt is well documented; what was once one of the most desirable holidaying spots in the world is a shadow of its former self. Places like Sharm El Sheikh, a favourite amongst European holidaymakers, have become ghost-towns. What makes the whole thing all the more frustrating is the fact that Egypt is still Egypt – we still have some of the most magnificent antiquities, some of the most beautiful beaches and some of the most unique cultural quirks – it’s just a matter of convincing the world that Egypt is still alive and kicking.

This is something that the inaugural edition of the Your Holiday Expo 2016 is aiming to show. Set to be held at Cairo Festival City between Thursday 19th and Saturday 21st of May, organiser Marasem PR & Event Management have the Ministry of Tourism and the South Sinai and Red Sea Governorate by their side as sponsors for what is set to be a huge three-day event that aims to rekindle interest in Egypt as a top tourist destination.

But what can you expect from the Your Holiday Expo? Well, with its goals and objectives in mind, the expo is providing a platform for companies and brands in the industry to potentially meet new customers and, on a more long-term note, discover and uncover new markets.

Essentially, the event has been designed to empower companies and brands to promote themselves on their own terms. We like to bemoan the state of tourism in the country, but rarely have companies and professionals in the industry been given a vehicle to actually act on their concerns or even their ideas moving forwards.

What the Your Holiday Expo will do is allow exhibitors to communicate both as business-to-business and business-to-customer, the latter of which will target both groups and families as well as individual travellers – and this where the event excels in its mainstream appeal in giving customers and travellers the chance to interact one-one-one with industry professionals from Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, El Sokhna, Luxor, Aswan, the North Coast and more. Who knows – maybe you’ll walk away with a summer holiday booked and planned, with hotels and resorts set to be offering some special promotions.
