Are you in the mood for a Bocelli biopic with The Music of Silence, or are you more in the mood for a romantic movie like Midnight Sun? You can also catch the suspenseful action movie Beast of Burden, or burden yourself with the horrors of the critically acclaimed thriller, A Quiet Place.

The Music of Silence

What’s it about? This film tells the tale of the magnificent Andrea Bocelli, a blind child who overcomes all odds to become one of the greatest singers of the world. The film stars Toby Sebastian and Antonio Banderas, and features the man himself, Bocelli.

The good: Director, Michael Radford, has been behind successful films like Il Postino, as well as adaptations of George Orwell’s 1984, and Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.

The bad: While there are many positive signs pointing towards the success of the film, early reviews have claimed otherwise. The story seems bland, and the plot uneventful. It’s being lauded as a predictable biopic with no surprises.

Midnight Sun

What’s it about? Teenage girl (Bella Thorne) has a fatal sensitivity towards the sun, and is accordingly forced to stay at her house during the daytime. Eventually, she meets her long-time crush (Patrick Schwarzenegger, yes, Arnold’s son) who asks her out, and the two embark on a series of sunless adventures.

The good: Female eye candy falls in love with male eye candy and they embark on a romantic adventure. If you’re a romantic movie junkie, you’ll probably love this one.

The bad: The film is criticized for lack of depth, and lack of accuracy when it comes to portraying a real-life disease.

Beast of Burden

What’s it about? Sean Haggerty (Daniel Radcliffe) is forced into transporting drugs, and finds himself caught between the DEA and the Cartel. His wife is at risk, and both sides are threatening him with her life. Everything is on the line as Sean is forced to pick a side in order to save his wife.

The good: The plot of the movie promises a lot of action and suspense. Daniel Radcliffe also adds a lot of stature to the movie, and his performance is being praised by film fans and critics alike.

The bad: A lot of negative criticism is being directed towards the quality of film’s editing and shot sequencing.

A Quiet Place

What’s it about? John Krasinski stars and directs this new horror movie starring his wife, the beautiful and talented Emily Blunt. A massive invasion of creatures hits earth; if a human makes any sound, these creatures will hunt them down. Krasinski and Blunt are forced to live in silence and hide from the predators, as they try to keep their family safe.

The good: Ratings for this movie are absolutely stunning. It’s being praised by almost all critics and reviewing websites.

The bad: If you dissect it deeply enough, you’ll surely find some plot holes in the premise. It honestly sounds like a mischievous lie that parents tell their kids to shut them up. The movie claims that if a human makes any sound, these creatures will hunt him/her down. But when you think about it, what about natural sounds, why aren’t waterfalls killed, falling rocks hunted, or wind-shutting doors maimed?
