Hollywood produces a huge number of movies, which relentlessly keeps increasing year after year. And while there are a lot of innovative ideas, sometimes it feels like they’re running out of any good ones. A huge trend in Hollywood is remaking classic movies, a trend that saw most remakes fail spectacularly.
Recently though, a new trend has arose, and it’s all about remaking classic movies with a female cast. This happened with Ghostbusters a few years ago, and it is now happening with another classic movie, Ocean’s 11.
The new remake will be named Ocean’s 8, but it’s not just a remake. As we all know, the Ocean’s trilogy: 11, 12, and 13, told the story of a man named Danny Ocean (George Clooney), and his team of 11, 12, or 13 thieves that attempt a seemingly impossible heist. Instead of just remaking the same idea with a female cast, the filmmakers have made this movie about Danny’s sister, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), and her team of 8 thieves, again, attempting a seemingly impossible heist.
Ocean’s 8 is expected to hit Egypt on the 4th of July, and features a star-studded cast of top actresses and comedians. Sandra Bullock’s team features Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter. We can’t wait to see how this all pans out, but we’ll have to wait for over a month. Until then you can enjoy Arabic movies in Eid Al-Fitr, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in mid-June, Solo: A Star Wars Story around the 20th of June, and Deadpool 2 right at the end of June on the 27th. We have a lot of great movies coming our way, so stay tuned for our reviews.
