Gone are the days when you had to wait in lines to get your COVID vaccination certificate. The certificate, which is a must if you’re travelling abroad, could only be obtained through a handful of places spread across the country, but not anymore.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health has released a new app called Egypt Health Passport. The app serves to replace the paper certificate, which is subject to fraud, with a more secure, easily accessible electronic version.

The app is really intuitive to use. All you need to do is enter your National ID and your Vaccination Number, which Is sent to you in the text when you registered for the vaccine. You’ll then need to provide a profile picture and pay a fee, 100 LE for Egyptians and 400 LE for non-Egyptians, and just like that, you get an electronic passport that is recognised both nationally and internationally.

It’s worth noting that starting December 1^st, civilians will not be permitted into government institutions if they’re not fully vaccinated. The app is available for both Apple and Android.
