Sheikh Zayed has been a major hub for new restaurants hitting Cairo with indulgent tastes and intense flavours. Giving us much of that in recent years has been Galleria40, the restaurant and café hub that has been a prime location for Sheikh Zayed goers to try out the latest in food and nightlife.
Ovio is known as one of the best artisan food restaurants in town. Their presentation is delightful and the taste is out of this world. This café/restaurant is perfect for hanging out with friends, binging on snacks, or having yourself a full-out meal. They even offer some of their delicacies in charming jars for home use.
Straight from America, this international franchise is making quite a strong claim for being the best burger joint in town. They say you can tell the quality of a burger joint from its fries and buns. If so, then Good Stuff Eatery is definitely a place for good food. We enjoyed their delicious burger patties, perfectly spiced and cooked, then topped with delicious, fresh ingredients. Chicken lovers can also enjoy the various white meat options available.
Sleek decoration and delicious food. Gaby’s takes a prime spot in Galleria40 with an outdoor seating area looking over Sheikh Zayed, and is blessed with cool breezes all-year long. They have their own unique twist on international food, with appetisers to die for, and main dishes that will make your day. Gaby’s also offer a ton of delicious desserts and refreshing drinks.
The new kings of chicken in town, Sanos offer some of the best rotisserie chicken you’ll have in Cairo. Their delicious herbs and spices, coupled with the slow-cooking of the chicken make it juicy, tender, and powerfully tasty. With a mind on healthy food, all their side items are innovative and healthy, offering quite a unique experience thanks to their zoodles (zucchini pasta), quinoa with vermicelli and freekeh, or their delicious salads.
When night falls and it to party, The Tap West know how to throw a smashing one. Almost every night of the week is bustling with hot indie bands, or some of the best DJs in town. On the weekend you can enjoy their delicious brunch menu, offering tasty comfort food for the perfect start to the day on a relaxing Friday or Saturday afternoon.
Does anyone not like Starbucks? Galleria40 has diverse restaurants to satisfy your food cravings, and then Starbucks to get your coffee fix, get some focus time to finish up some work, or sit down and chat with your close friends.
With long queues at almost any time of the week, you don’t need us to tell you just how good it actually is, but we’ll tell you anyway. If you want to treat yourself to some unique ice cream flavours, indulge in classics, or even add a cookie to your tasty ice cream scoop, this is the place to go. Do not miss their White Coffee ice cream.
Zaitouna Food Hall
This is unlike any food hall you’ve ever seen in town. Zaitouna Food Hall boasts delightful decorations, from their stunning green walls to their majestic graffiti murals. The restaurants at Zaitouna Food Hall are quite diverse and all offer delicious food.
Get yourself some delicious chips from Soul Chips & Dips, or try out Mexican delights from Gringo’s Burrito. You can also go local with Egyptian street food courtesy of Zouki, or try something outlandish such as Rustik’s Scandinavian open sandwiches. Hearty Lebanese dishes are available at Mounir, while Zaza offers feteer. Didn’t find your favourite yet? There’s still more! Sabai Sabai offers delicious Thai food, while Lorenzo has some delicious, authentic Italian pizzas.
Finally, we have Stacked. Offering the best club sandwiches in town, and with a variety that will leave you spoilt for choice. For premium comfort food, your best option is Fat Cow, offering delicious burgers, hot dogs, and of course, wings.
BONUS: Galleria40 Culture Lab
Galleria40 launched their Culture Lab around three years ago, and since then, it has been bringing in people from all around Cairo. Let your passion drive you to learn from three different schools in the Culture Lab: Art Mania, Art Café, and Slimnastics. So whether you’re looking for music, fine & applied arts, or fitness & dance, Galleria40 has what you need. You can learn how to read notes, play instruments, and understand musical cords, or try your hand at learning to draw, taking great photos, or even making jewellery. Such art can then be displayed in Galleria40’s Designers Boulevard, showcasing the best pieces from its local artists.
