Renowned for housing some of the best restaurants in town, including Pane Vino and the Birdcage, the Semiramis InterContinental Cairo also happens to offer one of the finest international brunch buffets every Friday at Night & Day. This summer, the prestigious Garden City hotel takes it up another notch; offering an array of authentic Egyptian delicacies, drinks and desserts in the aptly and simply named, The Egyptian Brunch.

The all-Egyptian feast begins with a colourful spectrum of mezzahs placed on your table; from baladi salad, fried eggplant and white cheese & tomato dip, all the way up to Bosara, Mesh & Tahini and even Keshk.

But starters are just the tip of the iceberg; The Egyptian Brunch comprises a variety of live-cooking stations, which cater to all taste and fit any time of the day; foul & falafel, koshary and sweet & sour feteer and staple authentic soups, dishes and grills that are perfect for a lunch-time meal; from Hawawshi, Shawerma, Roz Mo’amer with duck, to kabab, kofta, chicken and fish.

That’s not all; The Egyptian Brunch also celebrates our true spirit with the unique Tasaly Corner, offering a variety of local snacks, including Hommos, Termes, Helba and pop corn, not to mention hibiscus, tamarind, sahlab, anise and other traditional Egyptian drinks.

On top of that comes a wide range of desserts that will end the day delightfully; be it as simple as the naturally-sweet watermelon and teen shouki, or classic oriental desserts, such as rice pudding, meshabek, malban, konafa with cream and basbousa.

This is just a sneak peek, though – there’s plenty more, but we’re going to leave it for you to try for yourself.
