The year of the Barbie movie is a step forward for feminism all around the world. The painfully funny movie sets a precedent in cinema and in a capitalistic world. Greta Gerwig has managed to build a cult following with a mainstream media presence, which is unusual, to say the least. On top of all that, the movie managed to create an impactful movement with its ingenuity and creativity, and viewers are not only left with a sad truth but a ton of Barbie products that can cheer you up. Here are the Egyptian businesses that are contributing to the Barbie hype.

Nola

The self-made local cupcake store is owned by Laila and Adel Sedky, who filled a gap in the market by introducing a cosy boutique store that sells dessert goods. For Barbie, they are running a promotion with pink cupcakes decorated with pink frosting and the iconic Barbie logo on top in edible form. You can also customise a mini cake in Barbie pink with the Barbie logo as well.

Adding to their Barbie collection, Nola also came out with a breakfast Barbie treat to start your mornings with! The mini croissant cereal comes with Barbie pink milk that you pour onto the mini croissant goodness.

Tortina

Founded in 2009, the pastry and dessert shop is popular for its custom cake designs and for making customer’s dreams come true. Tortina x Barbie made a sweet debut on August 4th and invited customers on social media to wear pink and come pick their Barbie-themed cakes.

The Diner

Offering not just sweet treats like pink Barbie heart-shaped pancakes and bedazzled pink milkshakes and soda, The Diner also offers savoury pink pasta to help you really feel the Barbie effect. These menu items are available for a limited time only, so hurry, grab your girls and head on over to the diner!

Momochi

Authentic Japanese mochi has been a gen-z favourite in recent months, and many places around Cairo are now dedicated to offering the best version of this Japanese delicacy. Momochi is currently running a Barbie promotion with a boba of your choice in their pink berry lemonade. The promotion is currently only available at their Point 90 branch.

The local business is dedicated to offering comfortable and affordable clothing. You can get your everyday essentials and more; their linen sets are perfect for the hot weather. Their Barbie-inspired line is called Holly Berry and ranges from vests to shorts to skirts, all Barbie-pink and linen. They are the perfect outfit combination to dress like Barbie while watching the movie.
