Egypt is filled to the brim with breathtaking views and beautiful landscapes that attract tourists from around the world. In this spirit, we are pleased to announce the launch of the new long-distance Red Sea Mountain Hiking Trail.

The project is owned by The Maaza tribe, and to put it in the words of the trail’s founders, “the Red Sea Mountain Trail shows the best of the region’s inimitable beauty.” The 170 KM trail aims to give hiking gurus an authentic and one-of-a-kind experience. Local Bedouins will take visitors on an adventurous trip through ancient routes that have been used for centuries for hunting, travelling, and trading. Across the hike, visitors listen to stories from Bedouins; a people who have been feeding history with their outstanding cultural and historical heritage. Also, visitors will enjoy mouthwatering meals, prepared by locals. The hiking program can be tailored upon request, according to your fitness levels. So, if you pretty much can’t do the 10-day route, shorter circuits are available.

Ben Hoffler, one of the trail’s founders, told Lonely Planet, “The Red Sea Mountain Trail is about rethinking Hurghada’s tourism and creating an industry in which the Bedouins go from service to leadership roles, which ultimately empowers them to show their homeland and heritage to the world.” As such, the launching of this trail will undoubtedly introduce a unique experience to Egypt’s tourism industry.
