The MENA Region Welcomes Disney Plus

The MENA Region Welcomes Disney Plus

Disney is synonymous with childhood to most of us. We associate it with the good ol’ days, so our love for it is unlimited. So you can imagine our feelings when Disney Plus was launched in the Middle East! Sixteen countries across the MENA region now have access to the platform. Luckily for us, Egypt is one of them.

So what should you know?

Disney Plus Content

Gone are the days when Disney was just the classic fairy tales we grew up with, like Snow White and The Sleeping Beauty. Now, Disney Plus’s content is made up of Disney-Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic, and Star.

Yes, you read that correctly! The entire Marvel universe, with all its movies, characters, and series, is right there on Disney. Nostalgic for the original Iron Man? There. Curious about the best-rated new show, Mrs Marvel starring a Muslim teenager, or the Egyptian-directed Moonknight? All there. Even if you want to start from scratch and get to know the whole Marvel universe and want to binge-watch all the movies in one place, it’s never been easier.

Disney isn’t limited to its old classics such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast; it’s always making new films and series, amongst them Turner and Hooch, and Big Shot. Then, we have Pixar, our main reason for flowing tears during our childhood. You can revisit those tears elicited by Up, then laugh them out with Toy Story on Disney Plus.

Then, of course, is the fan-favourite world of Star Wars! Everything Star Wars is on Disney Plus, so even if you’ve never watched the original movies (like some of us!), now you can! A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi are all on Disney plus, as are prequel and sequel trilogy and related TV shows like the new Obi-Wan Kenobi.

If you’re vaguely excited but aren’t really sure what Star is, we’ve got you: Star includes television programmes produced by ABC Signature, 20th Television, 20th Television Animation, and FXP, among others. This means the beloved medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and many others are available for you to enjoy at any time!

Now, the absolute best part that we left until last: Tamim Fares, Disney Plus’s Director in the Middle East and North Africa, promised that amongst Disney’s new plans for major diversity and inclusivity, there will soon be a tremendous amount of MENA-focused content on Disney Plus (maybe we will get that Moonknight spin-off of the first Egyptian superhero Layla after all!)

Service

Besides the incredible variety of content that gets bigger and bigger daily, we’re also struck by Disney Plus’s platform!

Disney Plus has a very easy-to-navigate layout and can accommodate up to seven profiles. But, the best part is the system-dividing content between adults and children. Moreover, Disney Plus gives parental control options, so you can make sure nothing you disapprove of slips into the TV viewing of the little ones!

Disney Plus costs LE 49.99 a month, with an annual subscription of LE 498.99.
