‎ Frank & Co: Revisiting One of Maadi’s Favourite Food & Drink Lounges

It is refreshing indeed to find a place that is a mix of every mood you could think of. Frank & Co is that kind of place; you have an outdoor area that is perfect for breakfasts or brunches. At the same time, there is an indoor lounge area for more intimate dinners or work meetings. Then, you have the bar and the high tables, where you can casually mingle on weekends, or enjoy a night out. Having tasted their fantastic food selection before, this time we decided to give their cocktails a try – we just had to.

We went around early afternoon and decided to sit outside; we got the drinks menu and began exploring our options. We first opted for the Frozen Berry Colada (120LE) – rum, pineapple juice, coconut milk, lemon, and mixed berries. This cocktail was delicious for so many reasons; the pineapple juice tasted fresh, the hint of coconut milk was just right, and the berry flavour was pleasingly powerful. Our second option was the Blueberry Collins (120) – gin, lemon juice, blueberry and soda. This drink had a decent amount of gin, and the taste of the blueberry and lemon together was a match made in heaven.

Before ordering our second round of delicious cocktails, we wanted to get something to nibble on. Their extensive tapas menu was very tempting, so we were recommended to get the Beef Satay (145LE) – beef skewers with home-made peanut sauce. This dish was a success; the beef was tender and clearly pre-marinated, while the peanut sauce, although light in texture, was great in flavour.

As for the cocktails, we selected a Bloody Mary (120LE) – vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, salt, pepper, lemon, and celery. What was unique in this drink is that the tomato juice tasted fresh, with just the right amount of lemon juice. Although the celery was missing, the mix of flavours in the cocktail tasted great. Last but not least, we finished off with the Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri (120LE) – rum, strawberry puree, lemon juice and triple sec. This drink is a sensation if you are a strawberry fan; the puree tasted fresh, while the lemon juice gave it the tang it needed – all in all, it was delicious.

Safe to say, we enjoyed our drinks-orientated visit to Frank & Co, they proved that they not only excel in food, but also in speciality cocktails. It is undoubtedly one of the best places to grab a boozy brunch in Maadi; enjoying the sunlight with a delicious cocktail in hand, What more could you ask for?
