There comes the weekend, bringing along a diversity of events across Cairo. From music nights to Christmas bazaars, you’ll definitely find something to keep you busy throughout the weekend. Here’s the deal:

Thursday begins with a couple of performances; Bizet’s famous masterpiece Carmen at Cairo Opera House, as well as Raya & Sikeena at El Gomhoria Theatre, courtesy of Fursan El Sharq Troupe. Music nights ensue as Rana Haggag and Sherif Mustafa take to the stage at Darb 1718 for a jazz night called JazzXElSat7, and Mustafa Mahdi and his band, Negoom Masreya, perform at the Arab Music Institute for a round of Arabic tunes.

Italian songstress Luisa Russo will be alongside Philippe Humbert at ROOM Art Space Garden City for a round of English, French, and Italian tunes, while all the talented Cairenes out there will be welcomed at AfriCairo, which hosts a jam night called We’re Jammin’.

As for Saturday, Yellow Umbrella celebrates Christmas with an eventful day that also sees Basma Farah taking to the stage, ROOM Art Space Garden City sees Insjam playing a diversity of genres with an Egyptian twist, while Cairo Symphony Orchestra takes to the pit at Cairo Opera House, to perform various Disney movie scores.

The weekend comes to a finale, with a jam night at The Tap Maadi, an Arabic underground music night at Cairo Jazz Club courtesy of Do’souqa, and an acoustic night at The Tap East, where Hassan Ramzy takes to the stage for a round of originals and covers.
