& C offers a vast collection of footwear and handbags that range
from the affordable to the slightly overpriced. Heavy with the scent of burning
incense and loud with Amr Diab’s oldies pumping in the background, the shop has
an overcrowded feel to it.

Evening sandals are available in
abundance and in a variety of colours including red, pink and fuchsia (175LE).
We know how most evening occasions requiring
decent-looking footwear seem to pop out of nowhere and solution are not particularly easy to come by in
Cairo. C & C makes for a
quick shopping destination when on the hunt for affordable evening sandals.

Patent leather sandals are also on
offer at 155LE. Brown and black leopard print ballet flats are available for
85LE. The shop also carries flat and high-heeled gladiator sandals as well as straw
wedges for 115LE. Flip-flops start at 50LE. One particular pair that stood out was
a pair of fuchsia flip-flops that was adorned with cheap-looking silver faux
gems.

There is also a wide variety of
handbags on offer. Jewel-studded and sequined evening clutches will set you
back 175LE. Bizarre and outdated items are also on offer like a washed denim
handbag that is overpriced at 165LE. Fuchsia pleather handbags are also
available for 210LE. Classic-styled purses are also available starting 200LE
and reach up to 330LE.

The handbags tend to go overboard
with the multi-colouring, sequins and faux jewels. A particular white bag comes
with gems in all colours including blue, red, pink and green. Messenger bags
with faux fur on the flap sell for 150LE.

C & C also carries a limited selection of
boots of which knee-high boots are feature. A particular cow-pattern ankle boot
caught this reviewer’s attention. There was also a beige ankle boot with faux
fur decoration. The shop also carries a collection of belts, starting at 45LE. A collection
of sneakers is available in a variety of colours and patterns, with a pair selling
for 125LE. Converse-style sneakers are also available for 65LE.

Although this reviewer wouldn’t
normally shop at C & C, there
are a few buyable numbers that require a sharp eye.
