Summer is surely still around; but as we continue to melt under the heat during the morning, Cairo's nightlife, meanwhile, welcomes the autumn season with live non-stop entertainment.
Thursday is a typically eventful night; with a line-up featuring Bashar Galal, Zeina and Abou Samra, Downtown's latest nightlife spot, Zigzag, kicks off its weekend in style and the Tap in Maadi welcomes DJ Sherif Nakhla for a night of house and techno music, while Oktoberfest continues to dominate at Cairo Jazz Club, with Funk Off and Amro & the Big Bang Boogie performing live.
Championing local craftsmanship Egypt Craftopia hold an autumn bazaar at the District, while El Sawy Culturwheel welcomes Leil We Ein for an evening of Oriental music and taking to the decks for some of the hottest English and Arabic hits at 6th of October city's Indigo, is local DJ Islam.
In the meantime, Darb 1718 hosts the screening of 'K2 & the Invisible Footmen' and 'Life is Waiting', - two movies by Brazilian filmmaker Iara Lee - and over at ROOM art space, local talent, Ramy Attalah takes to the stage for a night of jazz.
Friday sees yet another busy night, with DJs Nader Tahawy and Special K closing the curtain's on Cairo Jazz Club's Oktoberfest celebrations and DJs Hisham Zahran and Aly B providing the music at Zigzag, while Eat and Barrel welcomes DJs Oscar De Rivera and Karim Zalat for the return of weekly day-party, Eat to the Beat. In one of the hightlight events of the weekend, meanwhile, Rival City Heights, featuring X-Factor finalist, Jeff Gutt, follow-up a midweek gig at Cairo Jazz Club with a performance at the Tap.
Over in Garden City, Intercontinental Semiramis' Night& Day hosts its weekly brunch buffet, covering everything from Asian to Middle Eastern cuisines, while Sakkara Country Club is the scene for the debut of VENT's new party concept, with resident DJs, Ahmed Samy and TAG, featuring a line-up that also includes DJ music producer Aisha Devi and Danse Noire DJs. Elsewhere, El Genaina Theatre welcomes singer-songwriter, Osama El Hady, as well as popular brass troupe, El Nafikha.
Saturday sees local talent, Hassan Ramzy, taking to the stage for some cozy acoustic night over at the Tap, a night of electro music at El Geneina theatre, featuring Ahmed Saleh, popular electro producer Hussein Sherbini, followed by Abdullah Miniawy for a soothing Sufi-inspired performance and returning to the decks of Cairo Jazz Club is local band, Sahara, for a Rai infused performance.
Meanwhile, it's Oldies Night at Heliopolis night club, Cavallini, and once again, reviving some of Egypt's greatest musical acts, the Sakia Puppet theatre embodies the musical legend that is Mohamed Mounir, for a night of entertaining puppetry performance at El Sawy Culturewheel's River Hall.
Art enthusiasts ought to find time to see what's up-and-coming in the city, with several art galleries holding exhibitions this season, including Gypsum Art Gallery with its exhibition 'Colony: Latitude' and 'Bronze Vatrina' held at Al Kahila Art Gallery.
