With Cairo's curfew hours shortened once again, we're beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel. As we ease ourselves back in to a more normal routine, we see our vibrant city coming alive once again.
For a fun-filled Thursday, head over to Bikya Maadi for 'A Day out of 7azr' where the Cloud team have organised knowledge sharing activities, as well as a musical performance from local band Fabrica. For another light-hearted evening, Beit El Raseef are showcasing some of the best comical talents at their stand-up comedy night, '7azr 7obena'.
Jazz Mate never fails to deliver, and tonight they invite Hisham Bluse to serenade the crowd with his set of unadulterated blues. If you fancy letting your hair down with a tequila or two, be sure to pass by Alchemy for 'A Tequila Tale of Silver & Gold'. Every night this weekend, Cairo's favourite roof-top nightspot, Tamarai open their doors for a pre-curfew tipple at their 'After Work Cairo V' event. Meanwhile, Cairo Rumours hosts part two of their 'Dababa Party' – whatever that is – and Cairo Jazz Club welcomes DJ Mayouna to the decks.
On Friday, Artellewa begin their series of Hispanic film screenings with 'Perros Amores'; the first part of Alejandro González Iñárritu's 'death triology' – rumour has it, it's going to be intense. Elsewhere. El Sakia Puppet Theater takes center stage at El Sawy Culturewheel with two children's plays, 'The Yellow Frog' and 'Youssef's Secret'. Saturday is a little quieter, but our attention lands on Megawra's 'Opening Day'; their first social of the year, which promises to be a fun-packed event; complete with games, entertainment and a movie.
Alternatively, if you're looking for a weekend of relaxation and fine food, we've heard Chinoix serve up some exceptionally good Chinese cuisine in a rather lavish setting. If you're craving the beach and the smell of the sea but couldn't quite get there, Marine Fish in the 6th of October City bring you the freshest seafood directly from the North Coast; although you might want to get it to take-away. Also on that side of town, Froyal in the Mall of Arabia does their best at bringing a bit of class to that staple dessert; frozen yoghurt.
Have a great weekend!
